The Main Disadvantages of the South Beach Diet

There are many weight loss programs around that people looking to loose weight usually have a wide range of diets to choose from. The south beach diet is one such diet and it works great, but people in choosing the diet do not usually look at disadvantages. Thus, when they start the diet they usually discover that it is not what they wanted and this normally leads them to drop the diet in search of something else.
The first disadvantage is that the first phase of the diet can be brutal. This is because no carbohydrates are allowed. This often leaves a person feeling tired and low on energy. Therefore, someone may find that they cannot keep up the diet and so opt to look for another one. In fact, there are people who usually have low energy levels and find that they get sick. The other disadvantage is that since whole grains are not allowed in the first phase, a person might find that they are missing key nutrients and minerals. Thus, they may find that they are getting sick. However, this is usually remedied by a supplement. So, these are just a few cons of the south beach diet; it is important that people know them so that they can prepare in advance before they start the diet.
