The first disadvantage is that the first phase of the diet can be brutal. This is because no carbohydrates are allowed. This often leaves a person feeling tired and low on energy. The other disadvantage is that since whole grains are not allowed in the first phase, a person might find that they are missing key nutrients and minerals. Thus, they may find that they are getting sick. However, this is usually remedied by a supplement.
